10 SIMPLE TIPS TO CREATING KILLER CURB APPEAL.

Curb appeal is so important. What is it? It’s the attractiveness of the exterior of your home - what your home looks like from just standing on the curb out front. Thinking about selling or not, this is something you should pay attention to and create beautiful curb appeal for your home. It not only looks great, but can save you money and is proven to reduce the likelihood of a break-in.

Here are the best & most simple tips to creating the best curb appeal for your home.

Rake the leaves, trim shrubs & cut your grass - lots of maintenance in the summer months but makes a big difference!

Put out planters or a seasonal wreath and plant lots of flowers - plants and flowers give your home the refreshing look of life. This is an easy way to step up your curb appeal. If you’re crafty, you can even DIY and make your own wreath or planter!

Pressure wash the exterior of your home - grime and mould can build up on the exterior of your home. Pressure washing your driveway, deck, porch, etc. allows all the dirt and grime to be cleaned up and make your home look clean and polished.

Paint your front door - adding some colour can help. Don’t be afraid to be bold and make it bright!

Clean the windows - get them sparkly clean!

Upgrade your house number, light fixtures and hardware on front door - relatively inexpensive items to upgrade and can really give your home a quick and easy face lift.

Light up the outside - add some solar lights in the garden. They’re easy to install and inexpensive. Really helps to create curb appeal during all times of the day!

Repair or replace loose roof shingles - not always inexpensive but an important part of home maintenance. This will increase the life expectancy of your roof (an expensive home maintenance item to replace entirely).

Clean your eavestroughs and gutters - another piece of home maintenance that’s important to not only make your home look great but also take care of it. Clogged gutters and eavestroughs can possibly cause your roof to leak or water to enter your home.

Get a new door mat - my favourite part to creating curb appeal. Find something local, DIY, or even get one custom made that says your favourite saying!
